Minor update and development progress

I'm posting a small update. Scroll below the update notes to read about the state of the game's development.

What's new?

  • added a screen that reminds you who made this game and makes you press a button to access the main menu (in preparation for a possible opening animation, I just thought I'd add that instead - the screen itself will probably change in time, but I thought it was good enough for now),
  • added MC to the character info screen, since why not,
  • fixed a small bug that would display the wrong speaking character in one scene,

That's it for the update - obviously my focus isn't on improving the demo anymore, but instead on developing the first half of the game.

Development news

If you remember my previous post about the development of the game, you'll know that I've divided the game into three acts - Act I is the longest, and consists of the first three weeks of gameplay, which is half of the full game. If you're following my development blog on Tumblr, you'll have seen some previews and news regarding the game I post every couple of days, depending on my progress. I'm done with the first act of 4 out of 6 routes in the game, and the past week has been very productive for me. However, I will be gone for two weeks since this Sunday, and will be unable to work on the game. That's why I was so eager to work on completing as many routes as I could before then.

Now that I have a stable build of the game containing Tom's, Michael's, William's and Sharpe's routes, I can send it to my testers and wait for their feedback and comments while I'm gone. That way, these two weeks will hopefully progress the game's development somewhat without me actually working on it. Afterwards, I'll likely work on the two remaining routes - Charlie's and Elizabeth's.

I can't predict how much time I'll actually have for the game in the following couple of months, but I know that both Charlie's and Elizabeth's routes will take longer than the previous four I completed.

Either way, progress is being made. Thanks for reading ~
