Recognizing gamers who helped promote the game
Absolution Let's Plays playlist
I thought I should recognize the people who decided to play my game on their channels and put together a little playlist of all three let's plays of the game (there's currently 8 videos). I'm really grateful to anyone who posts videos of my game, talks about it, gives me feedback, or promotes it in any other way - it really helps and it always brings a smile to my face to watch people enjoy my content.
When I started creating content, I had no way of actually seeing people's reactions to it - I was writing fanfiction. However, the biggest joy for me was waiting for reviews of my newest chapters to arrive and reading how people felt about what they read. I had a few dedicated readers who gave me feedback after each chapter, and it was an amazing experience to have a small community of people who were interested in what I was doing.
Now, Youtube is a way for me to see people react to my content, and it's been a blast so far - I get chills every time I start a video of someone playing something I made, and it's very heartwarming to see people praising it in their videos. It really makes me feel more encouraged to keep working on the game, and keep doing my best to increase the quality of the final product.
If you've played the game and want to see how others reacted to it, I encourage you to check this playlist out - I personally think some of the reactions to the game and characters were priceless. And if you want to support the game, but have no way of promoting it, here are some things you can do to help.
How to support the game?
- Give the game a rating on Itch.io - this helps more people see the game while browsing the site, and gives me a better idea of how the people feel about the demo. You can rate the game on its page and optionally review it.
- Leave a comment - whatever it is you think about the demo, I love receiving feedback from players - there are no wrong questions ~
- Follow the development blog on Tumblr- I have a tumblr where I post small previews of what I'm currently working on, and some off-topic drawing for certain occasions (like the characters' birthdays - the main character's, and the game's second anniversary of development is coming up on the 24th of October - I might write a long devlog post of my total progress over the past year)
- Join the Discord server
Any of these is greatly appreciated - it's not easy to be recognized as a small indie game, so support is crucial.
That was a bit of a rant, but I think that's all for today. Thanks for supporting "Absolution: Way of the lost" ~
