Working on week 5
29.01.22 Devlog: Charlie's route
Since the recent survey made me aware that people want more frequent devlogs, I decided to write one for you guys. I'm finally back to working on week 5, this time Charlie's route. It's content that is scheduled for April but there's much more to do there than the builds before it, most importantly writing the missing sessions.
This is what my progress looks like on week 5 stuff. The horizontal bars are weeks 4, 5 and 6, with each day (Monday-Friday) being divided into four for four of the patient routes. The colors are explained at the bottom. I finished William's route back in July (and am very proud of it, including the bad endings) and the main story even before that. Also in July, I started Tom's and Charlie's routes with 4 and 3 sessions written for them respectively. Now I've decided to focus on Charlie, at least until the end of his week 5 events, since I'm really close to it and very hyped. Oh yeah, don't forget to check my trello board if you're ever wondering what I'm up to - I'm trying to update it whenever I switch my focus or get something done.
The gimmick with Charlie's week 5 is that it plays out much differently than the other patient routes, without the usual investigation events. Instead, there are events and conflicts specific to that route, which is reflected in the ending branching (as I was typing this, Catyana, my beloved cat, decided to hover between me and my laptop, demanding affection. Here's a picture of the girl from this morning).
What I'm saying is Charlie's route is very exciting and you should be hyped for it >.> I don't estimate the remaining two sessions, one dream sequence and one break event taking too long, so Charlie's route for Build D should be wrapped up writing-wise pretty soon (which is very good because I got stuck on it in July). After Charlie I'll probably move on to Tom, then finally Michael once I have some more inspired ideas for his route.
Thanks for reading, see you in my next devlog!
PS: have this lovely memey glimpse at what I'm working on right now from my discord server.
